2026 Schedule and Registration

All trips are Free, including transportation, but you must register

Trips leave from and return to the Forsyth Nature Center. It is possible to use your own transportation and to meet us at the trailheads - email me if you plan to do this: michael@catskillcountrywalks.com

May 9th - Wallkill Valley Rail Trail - Rosendale

Wallkill Valley Rail Trail from Women's Studio Workshop to the Rosendale Trestle. Approximately 2 miles.

Meet at the Forsyth Nature Center at 9 AM to carpool or at the trail at 9:30 - 722 Binnewater Ln, Kingston, NY 12401 · - Click here to Register

Bring a snack for yourself. Bring water. Wear hiking shoes or sneakers - no open-toed shoes. Dress appropriate for weather including a hat and bug spray.

June 20th - Onteora Lake - Town of Kingston

Located in the Zena Highwoods area where the Towns of Woodstock, Saugerties, and Ulster meet, this 210-acre Sanctuary is protected by the Woodstock Land Conservancy. This walk will be approximately 2 miles. The van leaves from the Forsyth Nature Center at 9 AM and will return by noon.

July 25th - Sojourner Truth State Park - City of Kingston

Bluestone is a New York State Wild Forest. This walk will be about 2 miles and will visit historic sites, stone quarries, and Pickerel Pond. The van leaves the Forsyth Nature Center at 9 AM and will return by noon.
